Dear Residents
I would like you all to be informed that there have been a few distraction burglaries in and around the area and that the offenders seem to be targeting the elderly.
A suspicious incident happened in the Chilwell area at around 20:30 hours on the 16/02/2012 where a young male knocked on a door and said he had lost his ball and could he have it back
The lady of the property locked the door behind her went to look for the ball when she returned the male had gone.
Can we please ask that you keep your doors and windows locked at all times of the day and night and to ask for any identification from anyone wanting to gain access to your property and if you have any doubts about the ID don’t be afraid to call the company they work for.
Also if you know of anyone elderly who does not have Neighbourhood alert or lives alone to make them aware and if they see anyone looking suspicious hanging around to ring 999 or contact us on the non emergency number 101
Thank you for your help in this matter all information received could help us in locating the offenders.
