Attempt Car Theft LittleGreen Road Woodthorpe

Hi,

In the early hours of this morning 00:33 a vigilant member of the public spotted 4 young people on LittleGreen Road, Woodthorpe and the caller said that they looked between 16-18 years of age all in dark clothing, except for one who was wearing a white hoody.

The caller had heard an alarm and saw the 4 people running away from the area.

Officers were despatched to the area, however no one was found.

Just under an hour later at 01:15 a member of the public who had been the victim of a Burglary 2 weeks earlier reported in to say that one of their vehicles ( a courtesy car) had been "Bounced" out of the way to gain access to another vehicle.

Officers including the Force Support Helicopter were despatched to the area, unfortunately no persons were found within the immediate vicinity, but some people were stopped at some distance from the property and their details were taken.

During the previous burglary at the address items including CAR KEYS were stolen & the vehicle that they had gained access to this morning was the same vehicle whose KEYS had been stolen during the Burglary.

Fortunately the owner of the vehicle had taken the crime prevention advice offered by Nottinghamshire Police and had got their vehicle locks changes and alarms re-mapped.

The reason why there was a courtesy car on their drive was because their other vehicle (whose keys were also stolen in the earlier burglary) was in the garage having its lock changed and alarms re-mapped.

Also many thanks to the vigilant member of the public who had called in the incident & also the victim of the previous Burglary for changing the locks/alarms on their cars, otherwise we could have potentially been investigating 2 stolen vehicles this morning.
